Responsibilities
- Architect and execute the 2026 innovation roadmap, integrating emerging technologies (quantum computing, synthetic biology, AGI) into core business strategy
- Lead cross-functional teams of researchers, engineers, and designers to transform futuristic concepts into viable product prototypes
- Conduct horizon scanning and trend analysis to identify disruptive technologies with 3-5 year commercialization potential
- Develop strategic partnerships with academic institutions, government labs, and emerging tech startups
- Present innovation frameworks and future scenarios to C-suite executives and board members
- Champion ethical innovation frameworks and responsible development practices for transformative technologies
- Manage $5M+ innovation budget with ROI-focused resource allocation
Qualifications
- 10+ years in innovation strategy, R&D leadership, or futurist consulting with demonstrated impact on commercializing emerging technologies
- Deep expertise in at least two exponential technology domains (quantum computing, synthetic biology, AGI, neuromorphic computing)
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams from ideation to market launch of disruptive products
- Strong background in scenario planning and strategic foresight methodologies (e.g., Delphi method, causal layered analysis)
- Executive communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies
- PhD or equivalent experience in STEM fields with additional certification in innovation management (e.g., Stanford d.school)
- Portfolio showcasing 3+ successful innovations implemented at scale with measurable market impact
