Responsibilities
- Lead horizon-scanning initiatives to identify emerging technologies with 2026 commercialization potential
- Architect and execute innovation roadmaps for quantum computing and decentralized AI systems
- Drive cross-functional R&D projects with $10M+ annual budgets
- Establish strategic partnerships with MIT Media Lab, Singularity University, and NASA JPL
- Present future-vision frameworks to C-suite and board stakeholders
- Patent 3+ breakthrough technologies annually in sustainable tech domains
- Mentor a team of 8 futurist researchers and engineers
Qualifications
- PhD in Systems Engineering, Computational Biology, or Futurist Studies
- 8+ years in R&D leadership at companies like Tesla, DeepMind, or SpaceX
- Published 3+ peer-reviewed papers in Nature or Science on exponential technologies
- Proficiency in foresight methodologies (Delphi, Horizon Scanning, Scenario Planning)
- Track record of launching products with $50M+ ARR
- Expertise in quantum machine learning and carbon capture technologies
- Security clearance or DOE/NASA collaboration experience preferred
- Certified Futurist (CFP) designation required
