Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives in emerging technologies (quantum computing, bio-digital interfaces, climate-tech AI)
- Develop 5-year strategic technology roadmaps aligned with market evolution
- Partner with product teams to prototype and validate next-gen solutions
- Present findings to C-suite and external stakeholders at global tech summits
- Manage $2M+ annual innovation budget with ROI-driven resource allocation
- Establish industry partnerships with academic institutions and government labs
- Mentor R&D scientists through patent development and publication processes
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or related field with 8+ years R&D experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (quantum, AI, biotech, etc.)
- Experience leading multi-million dollar research initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Strong network connections with global innovation ecosystems
- Proficiency in scenario planning and technology forecasting methodologies
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Portfolio of implemented innovations or patents in emerging technologies
