Responsibilities
- Operate powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) to move materials within the warehouse and loading docks.
- Load and unload freight from trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads to prevent damage.
- Inspect forklift equipment for safety issues before operation and report any malfunctions immediately.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in cycle counts as required by management.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
- Collaborate with warehouse management to optimize workflow efficiency and meet daily targets.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Qualifications
- Valid OSHA forklift certification (Class 1, 3, or 4).
- Minimum of 1 year of previous experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse setting.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and warehouse procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Basic computer skills for logging inventory or scanning barcodes.
