This position requires a rare blend of analytical rigor, creative foresight, and commercial acumen. You'll lead horizon-scanning initiatives, publish trend reports, and present strategic frameworks that will drive $100M+ investment decisions. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of technology, human behavior, and sustainable business models.
What you'll achieve:
- Develop 3-5 year strategic roadmaps for emerging markets
- Identify and prioritize breakthrough technologies for acquisition/partnership
- Present quarterly futurist briefings to the board of directors
- Lead cross-functional innovation sprints with 20+ global teams
Responsibilities
- Conduct horizon-scanning research across biotech, AI, quantum computing, and climate tech domains
- Author annual Future State Report with 50+ validated trend predictions
- Design and facilitate corporate innovation workshops for 200+ stakeholders
- Build financial models for emerging market opportunities ($50M+ TAM)
- Lead patent strategy for breakthrough technologies
- Represent company at global futurist conferences (Web Summit, CES, etc.)
- Mentor junior strategists in futures methodology
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategy consulting, R&D, or corporate innovation
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Thinking, or equivalent
- Published thought leadership in Harvard Business Review or MIT Tech Review
- Portfolio of 3+ successful product launches from trend identification
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging tech domains
- Experience with scenario planning and Delphi methodology
- Fluency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Certification in Foresight Methodology preferred
