Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Equipment: Manually operate electric and diesel forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse and loading docks.
- Inventory Management: Accurately check and record incoming and outgoing shipments to maintain inventory accuracy and audit logs.
- Pallet Handling: Stack and organize pallets safely, ensuring they are balanced and secure for transport to storage areas.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety guidelines and company protocols to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately.
- Material Organization: Keep the warehouse aisles and storage areas clear to ensure efficient traffic flow and emergency access.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team leads and other warehouse staff to coordinate logistics and meet daily production targets.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant) is required.
- Experience: Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or distribution center setting is preferred.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand for extended periods, and navigate uneven surfaces.
- Documentation: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Availability: Must be available for part-time shifts, including early mornings or nights, as required by business needs.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on safety protocols and accuracy in inventory tracking.
- License: Valid driver's license is a plus but not always required for indoor operations.
