Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for commercial applications targeting 2026 deployment
- Design fault-tolerant quantum systems with 99.9% fidelity thresholds
- Publish 3+ peer-reviewed papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Manage a cross-disciplinary team of physicists and software engineers
- Secure $5M+ annual research grants from DARPA and NSF
- Drive partnerships with IBM, Google, and Microsoft quantum initiatives
- Develop roadmap for quantum supremacy in financial modeling and drug discovery
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics/Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in quantum computing research with published qubit manipulation protocols
- Expertise in topological quantum error correction codes
- Proven track record securing federal research grants
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum circuit optimization
- Experience leading R&D teams of 10+ scientists
- Prior work with superconducting or photonic quantum systems
