Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Drive research in quantum error correction and topological qubit stabilization
- Secure $5M+ annual research grants from DARPA, NSF, and industry partners
- Publish top-tier research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD researchers and establish industry-academic partnerships
- Translate theoretical breakthroughs into patentable quantum hardware innovations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (post-doc preferred)
- 5+ years of quantum computing research with proven algorithm implementation
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Experience securing government research grants ($1M+)
- Proficiency in quantum simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Deep understanding of superconducting qubit systems or photonic quantum computing
- Strong background in cryogenic engineering and quantum control systems
