Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for near-term quantum devices
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant computation
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes
- Collaborate with AI teams to integrate quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure $2M+ in government and industry research grants
- Mentor PhD interns from UT Austin quantum computing program
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science
- 3+ years experience with quantum circuit design (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Proven track record of publishing in quantum computing research
- Familiarity with cryogenic quantum hardware systems
- Strong Python/C++ programming skills for quantum simulations
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding
- Experience with quantum machine learning frameworks
