Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing protocols on cryogenic systems
- Develop error-correction frameworks to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize qubit connectivity and coherence times
- Publish peer-reviewed research and contribute to open-source quantum frameworks
- Secure research funding through NIH/NSF grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and drive cross-functional innovation initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Engineering with 3+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, or Cirq)
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science/IEEE journals
- Hands-on experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, or D-Wave)
- Strong background in linear algebra, statistical mechanics, and information theory
- Excellent project management skills with ability to lead complex research cycles
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for federal contract compliance
