Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental research on quantum hardware systems at 20mK temperatures
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with AI teams to create quantum-enhanced machine learning frameworks
- Publish 2+ peer-reviewed papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Secure $1M+ in government and industry research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates and interns in quantum research methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and quantum circuit design
- Publication record in Nature/Science or IEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error correction techniques
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or superconducting qubits
- Strong track record of securing government research grants (NSF/DOE)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
