Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop novel quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum solutions for finance and healthcare
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and present at IEEE conferences
- Secure research grants from NSF and DARPA programs
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum engineering interns
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and Qiskit/Quil frameworks
- Published research in Nature Physics or comparable journal
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum simulation tools
- Demonstrated experience with quantum annealing systems (D-Wave, Rigetti)
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability theory
- Track record of securing government research funding
