Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction techniques to stabilize qubit operations
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuit performance
- Publish research in Nature Physics and IEEE journals
- Lead cross-functional projects with AI/ML teams for hybrid quantum-classical systems
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or Q# frameworks
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum processors
- Expertise in machine learning for quantum error mitigation
- Validated track record of securing government research funding
