Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in cryptography and machine learning
- Lead prototype development of superconducting qubit systems at cryogenic temperatures
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to mitigate decoherence in quantum circuits
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional teams in quantum principles
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Develop error-correction methodologies for fault-tolerant quantum computing
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing publications (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Hands-on experience with quantum hardware (IBM Q, Rigetti, or D-Wave systems)
- Demonstrated expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complex analysis
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Security clearance eligibility for government-funded research projects
