Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for complex optimization problems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop fault-tolerant quantum processors
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and decoherence mitigation
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Develop prototypes for quantum applications in cryptography and machine learning
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and simulation frameworks
- Strong publication record in quantum information science
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical prototypes
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or superconducting qubits
