Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in machine learning and cryptography
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using IBM Quantum and Rigetti systems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical quantum circuits
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature Physics and IEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering
- Secure $5M+ in DARPA and NSF grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Theoretical Physics, or Computational Mathematics (2020-2026)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or topological quantum computing
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum circuit simulation frameworks
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or trapped-ion quantum processors
- Demonstrated ability to secure government research funding
- Expertise in quantum machine learning applications
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
