Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at cryogenic temperatures
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Author peer-reviewed publications and patents in quantum information science
- Mentor cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and software developers
- Secure and manage $5M+ in research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Present breakthrough findings at premier international conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with superconducting qubit systems or trapped-ion platforms
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent top-tier journals
- Expertise in Python/C++ for quantum simulation and algorithm development
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC)
- Proven ability to secure federal research grants
- Experience with quantum cloud platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in condensed matter physics or quantum optics
