Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction techniques to enhance qubit stability and computational fidelity
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and software developers
- Secure federal and private research funding through grant proposals
- Author peer-reviewed publications and present findings at international conferences
- Partner with industry leaders to translate theoretical breakthroughs into commercial solutions
- Maintain compliance with quantum security protocols and ethical standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in quantum hardware platforms (superconducting, ion traps, photonic)
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, probability, and complexity theory
- Proven ability to secure research funding (NSF, DoE, industry grants)
- Experience mentoring graduate researchers and interns
