Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experiments on superconducting qubit systems to achieve fault-tolerant operations
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for scalable quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to improve qubit coherence times and gate fidelities
- Author peer-reviewed publications and present findings at international quantum conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing open-source initiatives
- Translate theoretical concepts into practical quantum applications for finance and healthcare sectors
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing focus
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics, linear algebra, and complexity theory
- Proven track record of publishing in quantum computing or quantum information
- Expertise in cryogenic systems and microwave engineering for quantum hardware
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Experience with quantum circuit optimization and compiler development
- Ability to secure DoD or NSF quantum research clearance preferred
