Responsibilities
- Lead Architectural Vision: Design and implement the core architecture for our flagship 2026 AI systems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Model Optimization & Efficiency: Drive initiatives to optimize model inference latency, reduce computational costs, and enhance energy efficiency.
- Research-to-Production: Translate cutting-edge academic research into robust, deployable code and frameworks using modern MLOps practices.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor a high-performing team of ML Engineers and Data Scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
- System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Product, Security) to integrate AI capabilities into seamless user experiences.
- Strategic Roadmap: Identify emerging trends in AI and define technical strategies to maintain Zai Neural Labs' competitive edge.
Qualifications
- Education: PhD or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years focused on Machine Learning architecture.
- Technical Expertise: Deep proficiency in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Ray, Kubernetes, Apache Spark).
- Specialization: Proven track record of working with Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, or Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs).
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems in high-stakes, fast-paced environments.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
