Responsibilities
- Lead horizon scanning initiatives to identify emerging technologies with transformative potential for 2026-2030
- Develop and maintain strategic innovation roadmaps aligned with long-term business objectives
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops to translate future scenarios into actionable R&D priorities
- Build quantitative models to forecast technology adoption curves and market disruption patterns
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and innovation ecosystems to co-create future solutions
- Present foresight insights to executive leadership and board members through compelling narratives
- Mentor junior futurists and cultivate a culture of strategic foresight across the organization
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or related technical field (PhD preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in technology strategy, innovation consulting, or R&D leadership
- Proven track record of translating future trends into commercial opportunities
- Expertise in scenario planning and strategic foresight methodologies
- Deep understanding of exponential technologies (AI, quantum, biotech, nanotech)
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Portfolio demonstrating successful future-focused projects or published thought leadership
- Certification in Futures Thinking or Innovation Management (e.g., CFTR, CIPD) preferred
