Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end shipping processes including documentation, customs clearance, and carrier negotiations
- Optimize freight routes to reduce costs while maintaining 99.8% on-time delivery rate
- Manage inventory tracking systems and reconcile discrepancies weekly
- Collaborate with sales teams to resolve shipping escalations within 2-hour SLA
- Analyze shipping data to implement cost-saving initiatives
- Train junior staff on SOPs and compliance requirements
- Oversee hazardous materials handling and DOT compliance
Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience in shipping/logistics with LTL/FTL expertise
- Proficient in TMS platforms (Oracle Transportation Management preferred)
- OSHA 40-hour Hazmat certification required
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or equivalent experience
- Advanced Excel skills with VLOOKUP and pivot table expertise
- Strong negotiation skills demonstrated through cost-saving initiatives
- Ability to work under pressure during peak shipping seasons
- Valid Illinois driver's license required
