Responsibilities
- Coordinate international and domestic shipments through the Port of Long Beach, ensuring timely vessel berthing and container release
- Manage documentation compliance including bills of lading, customs forms, and hazardous material permits
- Optimize freight routing and carrier selection to minimize transit times and costs
- Act as primary liaison between clients, carriers, port authorities, and warehouse facilities
- Monitor shipment tracking and proactively resolve delays or customs clearance issues
- Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate warehouse receiving/distribution
- Prepare weekly performance reports for key stakeholders
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in port/shipping coordination within Southern California
- Proficient in logistics software (Descartes, WiseTech, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Certification in International Transportation & Trade (CITT) or equivalent preferred
- Deep knowledge of INCOTERMS, customs regulations (CBP), and maritime shipping procedures
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Strong bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) highly desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
