Job Summary:
The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of shipments, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate shipping schedules and routes to ensure on-time delivery.
- Prepare and verify all shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Track shipments in real-time and communicate delays or issues to customers immediately.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies and negotiate with carriers when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the company's logistics management system (ERP).
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure proper packaging and labeling.
- Monitor carrier performance and suggest improvements for efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and shipping compliance standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
