Responsibilities
- Coordinate international freight shipments including documentation, customs clearance, and carrier scheduling
- Manage warehouse inventory and prioritize dock loading/unloading activities
- Track shipments in real-time using TMS platforms and provide proactive status updates
- Resolve shipping discrepancies and negotiate with carriers to optimize transit times
- Collaborate with customs brokers to ensure compliance with international trade regulations
- Prepare Bill of Lading and commercial invoices for multi-modal shipments
- Analyze shipping metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in freight forwarding or port logistics operations
- Proficiency with TMS software (e.g., Descartes, MercuryGate) and MS Office Suite
- Deep understanding of Incoterms, customs regulations, and hazmat protocols
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex shipping documentation
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with global stakeholders
- Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environment
- Forklift certification and hazardous materials handling knowledge preferred
