Responsibilities
- Coordinate Shipping Operations: Manage the end-to-end shipping process, including scheduling pickups, coordinating with carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL), and preparing accurate shipping documentation (Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices).
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, verify shipment contents, and ensure accurate record-keeping in our ERP system.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damage claims, and transit delays to minimize downtime.
- Customer Communication: Provide timely updates to clients regarding shipment status, tracking numbers, and delivery schedules.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all shipments adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, including hazardous material guidelines if applicable.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with 3PL providers and freight forwarders to negotiate rates and secure capacity.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or freight forwarding.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to review data for accuracy and spot errors before dispatch.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Ability to think critically and troubleshoot logistics challenges under pressure.
