Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and heavy machinery to load/unload containers and cargo at the port facility
- Perform daily equipment inspections and safety checks per OSHA standards
- Maintain accurate inventory logs and warehouse documentation
- Coordinate with dockworkers and supervisors to optimize workflow efficiency
- Adhere to strict safety protocols in a maritime environment
- Assist in training new operators on equipment handling procedures
- Report maintenance issues and equipment malfunctions promptly
Qualifications
- Valid OSHA forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating industrial forklifts
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
- Basic math skills for inventory management and documentation
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends
