Responsibilities
- Load and Unload: Safely load and unload freight onto and from trucks, railcars, and pallets using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Inventory Verification: Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by checking labels, counting items, and comparing against packing slips.
- Packaging: Properly package and secure merchandise to prevent damage during transit.
- Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by sweeping, mopping, and organizing the warehouse floor.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs immediately.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not required; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and walk on various surfaces.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow instructions and pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Reliability: Must be punctual and able to work a full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license is a plus.
- Communication: Basic reading and writing skills required to complete documentation.
- Equipment Operation: Willingness to operate material handling equipment (forklift certification provided upon hire).
