Why This Role Matters: As our first dedicated 2026 Futurist, you'll shape our R&D roadmap, identify emerging paradigms, and lead cross-functional teams in developing prototypes that will define the next decade. You'll work directly with our C-suite and partner with MIT, Stanford, and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year technology foresight frameworks for AI, biotech, and quantum computing ecosystems
- Lead moonshot projects targeting 2026 breakthroughs in neural interfaces and climate-tech
- Conduct horizon scanning via patent analysis and academic partnerships
- Present strategic technology roadmaps to executive stakeholders and investors
- Manage $2M+ annual R&D budget for experimental initiatives
- Collaborate with product teams to translate futuristic concepts into viable MVPs
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy with proven impact on future-tech commercialization
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, synthetic biology, or AGI safety
- Published thought leadership in IEEE Nature or equivalent tier-1 publications
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across hardware/software/biotech domains
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or Bioengineering (or equivalent demonstrable expertise)
- Portfolio showcasing 3+ successfully commercialized futuristic technologies
- Top-secret clearance or willingness to obtain for government partnerships
