As a Forklift Operator at Apex, you will be the backbone of our daily operations, ensuring that our supply chain remains seamless and efficient. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse facility.
- Perform inventory management duties, including scanning, labeling, and maintaining accurate stock records.
- Ensure strict compliance with all OSHA safety regulations and company policies regarding equipment operation and workplace safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize loading and unloading schedules to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Conduct routine pre-shift inspections on forklifts to identify any mechanical issues or safety hazards before operation.
- Assist in warehouse maintenance and general housekeeping tasks as required by the shift supervisor.
Qualifications
- Valid OSHA forklift certification (CDL Class B is a plus but not always required).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Proven experience operating reach trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Strong ability to read and understand shipping manifests and labels.
- Demonstrated commitment to occupational safety and accident prevention.
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking systems.
