Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks in cold storage environments (-10°F to 32°F)
- Inspect and maintain refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal temperature control
- Manage inventory using WMS systems for accurate stock rotation and FIFO compliance
- Adhere to HACCP protocols and OSHA safety standards for cold storage operations
- Load/unload temperature-controlled trailers using specialized equipment
- Conduct quality checks on perishable goods upon receipt and dispatch
- Maintain detailed records for regulatory compliance and inventory audits
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year warehouse or cold storage experience
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work in sub-zero temperatures for extended periods
- Basic knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP)
- Strong attention to detail and inventory management skills
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly with proper technique
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights/weekends
- Valid driver's license preferred
