Responsibilities
- Load and Unload: Safely load and unload shipments of frozen and refrigerated goods onto and off pallets, racks, and shelves using forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning barcodes, conducting cycle counts, and organizing stock according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures.
- Temperature Control: Monitor cold storage units (freezers and coolers) to ensure temperatures remain within safe and required ranges for product integrity.
- Packaging: Properly package and label products to prevent damage during transit and storage.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance checks on warehouse equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, cold storage, or logistics environment is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in extreme cold temperatures (-10°F to 40°F).
- Equipment Operation: Forklift certification (CDL not required) is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow strict protocols.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
