Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport palletized goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Inventory Management: Verify incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy of stock counts and tagging items correctly.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization within the cold storage aisles, ensuring clear pathways for forklift operation.
- Temperature Compliance: Monitor storage units to ensure temperature control systems are functioning correctly and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Safety Adherence: Strictly follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Pick & Pack: Retrieve and prepare customer orders according to pick lists, ensuring order accuracy and timely delivery to shipping docks.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or cold storage environments is preferred but not required.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50+ pounds repeatedly; ability to stand for long periods and work in extreme cold (below 40°F).
- License: Valid driver's license is required; Forklift certification is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to accurately count and track inventory.
- Communication: Ability to read and interpret pick lists and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, hardworking, and committed to maintaining a high safety standard.
