Responsibilities
- Load and Unload: Safely load and unload freight from trailers, railcars, and trucks using forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Equipment Operation: Operate industrial forklifts and material handling equipment in strict adherence to OSHA safety standards.
- Inventory Management: Verify and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and prevent damage.
- Organization: Stack and organize products in designated storage areas, ensuring a neat and orderly warehouse.
- Maintenance: Perform routine pre-shift inspections on forklifts to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team leads and other warehouse staff to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications
- Certification Required: Must possess a valid Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant).
- Experience: Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or distribution center setting is preferred.
- Driver's License: Valid state-issued driver's license.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and work in various temperature conditions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow safety protocols and pay attention to inventory details.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends, as business needs dictate.
- Background Check: Willingness to pass a background check and drug screen.
