Job Overview:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for moving, locating, and placing stock and materials in a warehouse or storage facility. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify inventory counts and ensure proper labeling and placement of stock in designated storage areas.
- Perform daily pre-shift safety inspections of the forklift and warehouse environment to identify potential hazards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping and organizing pallets.
- Assist with inventory audits and cycle counting as required by management.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Certified Forklift Operator (CFO) license or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts (Counterbalance) in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills for inventory counting.
- Valid driver's license (clean driving record preferred).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
