As a Forklift Operator at Metro Distribution, you will play a crucial role in our daily operations, ensuring that our supply chain remains efficient and our products are handled with the utmost care.
Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and organize inventory.
- Safety Compliance: Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of equipment and adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations.
- Load Management: Efficiently load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate documentation and proper weight distribution.
- Inventory Accuracy: Maintain accurate records of stock movements and assist in cycle counting to ensure inventory integrity.
- Workspace Maintenance: Keep the warehouse area clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe working environment.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and meet daily targets.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Forklift Operator Certification (OSHA compliant).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse or distribution center.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when handling inventory and operating machinery.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Driving: Valid Driver's License (Class C) required for yard operations.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed.
