Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for emerging technologies (quantum computing, neurotech, advanced AI)
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives to prototype 2026-ready solutions
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies with 3-5 year commercialization potential
- Partner with C-suite executives to align tech strategy with business objectives
- Author thought leadership publications and keynote presentations at industry conferences
- Manage $2M+ innovation budget with ROI-focused resource allocation
- Mentor junior researchers in technology forecasting methodologies
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning or emerging tech research
- Proven track record launching 2+ breakthrough technologies to market
- Expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, synthetic biology, AGI ethics, or spatial computing
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Certification in Technology Foresight or Strategic Innovation Management
- Experience securing federal/state innovation grants (NSF, DARPA, etc.)
- Published research in peer-reviewed tech journals
- Exceptional analytical skills with proficiency in scenario planning tools
