Responsibilities
- Material Movement: Load, unload, and transport goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks with precision and care.
- Inventory Management: Organize stock in designated areas, ensure proper labeling, and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Packaging & Shipping: Prepare items for shipment by applying appropriate packaging materials and verifying order accuracy.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety guidelines and company protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic cleaning and minor maintenance checks on material handling equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments, including packing slips and delivery notes.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
- Licensure: Valid forklift certification is required; we will train candidates who are willing to obtain certification.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic computer literacy for scanning systems, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Soft Skills: Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing priorities during peak seasons.
