Responsibilities
- Operate Material Handling Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, order pickers, and reach trucks to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and Unload Freight: Handle loading and unloading of inbound and outbound trailers and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Inventory Management: Accurately pick, pack, and stage orders according to production schedules and shipping requirements.
- Pre-Shift Inspections: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of forklifts and reporting any maintenance issues immediately to supervisors.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and company policies, including wearing all required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and cycle counts as required.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with warehouse leads and other team members to ensure smooth workflow during the night shift.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid and current OSHA forklift operator certification (Class A, B, or C) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating heavy machinery in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (typically 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and navigate uneven surfaces in a dock environment.
- Visual Acuity: Excellent depth perception, color vision, and the ability to read and interpret weight tags and labels clearly.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Background Check: Successful completion of a background check and drug screen is mandatory.
