Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for cryptography, optimization, and simulation applications
- Design scalable quantum hardware interfaces and error-correction frameworks
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and industry whitepapers
- Manage cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and data scientists
- Secure federal and private funding for quantum innovation initiatives
- Develop strategic partnerships with quantum hardware manufacturers
- Mentor junior researchers and establish quantum computing curricula
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years in quantum computing research with peer-reviewed publications
- Expertise in quantum algorithms, error correction, and hardware-software integration
- Proven track record of securing research funding ($1M+ projects)
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quipper, etc.)
- Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams
- Deep understanding of NISQ-era limitations and fault-tolerant architecture
- Published work in Nature, Science, or IEEE Quantum journals preferred
