Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum systems using superconducting qubits and photonic processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to mitigate quantum decoherence and error correction challenges
- Author peer-reviewed publications and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and ACM SIGACT
- Mentor junior researchers and develop quantum computing curriculum for university partnerships
- Secure $500K+ in NSF/DOE grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Contribute to open-source quantum frameworks like Qiskit and Cirq
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum annealing or gate-based systems
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with quantum simulation libraries (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in Nature/Science/Physical Review journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience with cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
