Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop error-corrected quantum processors
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Partner with Fortune 500 companies to develop commercial quantum applications
- Secure and manage multi-million dollar government and private research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum hardware (superconducting, ion trap, or photonic systems)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent journals
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contract work
