Responsibilities
- Manage Shipments: Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound freight, ensuring accurate pickup and delivery times.
- Documentation: Prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs forms.
- Carrier Liaison: Communicate effectively with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and freight forwarders to resolve transit issues.
- Tracking & Reporting: Monitor shipment status in real-time systems and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze shipping costs and negotiate rates with carriers to ensure budget compliance.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and reconcile discrepancies.
- Compliance: Ensure all shipping activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan Associates) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot shipping delays and logistical challenges.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous nature to ensure zero errors in documentation and tracking.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods in a warehouse setting.
