Responsibilities
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments via air, sea, and ground transport
- Prepare and process customs documentation (Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin)
- Track shipment progress using TMS platforms and provide real-time updates to stakeholders
- Negotiate rates with carriers and manage freight contracts
- Resolve shipping discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Maintain compliance with DOT, FMC, and international trade regulations
- Collaborate with warehouse teams for optimal cargo loading and stowage
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of freight forwarding or shipping coordination experience
- Proficiency in customs brokerage documentation and procedures
- Strong working knowledge of Incoterms 2020 and L/C terms
- Advanced skills in TMS software (e.g., Oracle, Descartes)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Forklift certification and hazmat handling knowledge preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends during peak shipping seasons
