This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless cargo movement through the Port of Portland, coordinating between carriers, customs, and warehouse operations. We're seeking a detail-oriented professional to optimize supply chain efficiency while maintaining compliance with international shipping regulations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate domestic and international freight shipments via air, sea, and ground transport
- Manage documentation including bills of lading, customs forms, and compliance certificates
- Track shipments in real-time using TMS software and provide proactive status updates
- Resolve logistics disruptions and negotiate with carriers for optimal routing
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure timely dock scheduling
- Maintain compliance with DOT, IATA, and IMO regulations
- Analyze shipping data to identify cost-saving opportunities
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in freight forwarding or port logistics
- Proficiency with TMS platforms (e.g., Oracle, Manhattan Active)
- Certification in Customs Brokerage or International Trade preferred
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms 2020 and FMC regulations
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for complex routing scenarios
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in high-pressure environments
- Experience with Pacific Northwest port operations
