Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule domestic and international shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Track incoming and outgoing freight to verify status and identify potential delays.
- Liaise with carriers, trucking companies, and warehouse staff to resolve logistics issues.
- Manage inventory levels related to outbound shipments and maintain accurate records.
- Analyze shipping data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
- Assist in the onboarding of new carriers and negotiate shipping rates when applicable.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs regulations, and shipping terminology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
