Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end shipping operations including documentation, customs clearance, and carrier scheduling
- Optimize container loading plans to maximize vessel capacity and minimize transit costs
- Track shipments in real-time using our proprietary TMS platform and provide proactive client updates
- Resolve shipping discrepancies through direct communication with ports, carriers, and customs officials
- Analyze logistics data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
- Maintain compliance with international trade regulations (FMC, CBP, IMO)
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate inventory tracking and timely dispatch
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in ocean freight coordination or supply chain management
- Proficiency with logistics software (Descartes, TMW, or equivalent)
- Certification in customs brokerage or international trade (CITT, FMC) preferred
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex shipping documentation
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities during port delays and customs inspections
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
- Working knowledge of INCOTERMS and LCL/FCL operations
- Ability to work flexible shifts during peak shipping seasons
