Responsibilities
- Manage Shipment Lifecycle: Coordinate inbound and outbound freight, ensuring accurate scheduling and timely delivery via ocean, air, and ground carriers.
- Documentation Control: Prepare and review critical shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (BOL), commercial invoices, and certificates of origin to ensure full compliance with international trade laws.
- Carrier Communication: Liaise with freight forwarders, trucking companies, and port authorities to resolve transit delays, track cargo status, and optimize routing.
- Inventory & Tracking: Monitor cargo movement using TMS software and provide real-time updates to internal stakeholders and clients regarding shipment location and condition.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve logistics discrepancies, claims, and freight damage issues efficiently to minimize financial loss.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze shipping reports to identify trends, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain coordination within the shipping industry.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Incoterms (EXW, FOB, CIF), customs regulations, and import/export compliance procedures.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in TMS (Transportation Management Systems) such as Oracle, Manhattan Associates, or similar software; advanced Excel skills required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field is a plus.
