Responsibilities
- Coordinate and Schedule: Manage the end-to-end shipping process, including booking cargo space, scheduling pickup and delivery times, and coordinating with third-party logistics providers.
- Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and verify shipping documents such as commercial invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin to ensure compliance with international regulations.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing real-time updates on shipment status and resolving any logistics issues promptly.
- Freight Auditing: Monitor shipping costs, analyze freight bills for accuracy, and negotiate rates with carriers to optimize the company's supply chain budget.
- Inventory Control: Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure accurate inventory counts and proper labeling for outbound shipments.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changing customs regulations, import/export laws, and Incoterms to ensure full legal compliance.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, or International Trade is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan Associates).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot logistics challenges and implement effective solutions under pressure.
