Responsibilities
- Manage Shipping Operations: Oversee and coordinate all inbound and outbound shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
- Carrier Relations: Communicate effectively with third-party logistics providers and carriers to schedule pickups, track shipments, and resolve delivery issues.
- Documentation: Prepare and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure stock availability for shipping orders.
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, or delays promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline shipping processes and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in paperwork and data entry.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, during peak shipping seasons.
